The return of the fashion weeks

The fashion scene is all set to sizzle with the much-hyped upcoming fashion weeks in two metro cities soon. Delhi will witness the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) Autumn/Winter 2012 from February 15. The week will witness a record number of 138 designers showcasing their collections on the ramp and racks. Designer Rajesh Pratap’s wife Payal too will showcase at the week this time.

Mumbai too is not far behind, as Lakme Fashion Week’s Summer Resort 2012 is gearing up to dazzle the fashion circuits in March. It promises to offer many high points — count international designer of Indian origin Bibhu Mohapatra showcasing for the first time ever at the Week, fashion’s enfant terrible Rohit Bal presenting the grand finale after 12 years at the Week after doing an offsite show last season.

As a tribute to Indian Textiles Day, the Week will also be dedicating an entire day to Indian artisanship and textiles. Designers including Sabyasaachi Mukherjee, Krishna Mehta and others participating on this day will showcase Indian textiles. Also, this season seven Gen Next and four emerging designers from across the country will be showcasing.
