The noted sand artist from Orissa has been selected for representing India in the third Moscow World sand sculpture championship 2011, scheduled to begin on May 4.

Noted sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik from Orissa has been selected for representing India in the third Moscow World sand sculpture championship 2011, scheduled to begin on May 4.
Countries like Russia, India, Italy, Czech Republic, Bulgeria, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Belgium, Spain have been selected for this championship.
Pattnaik received the invitation from Chairman of selection committee Pavel Mylnikove and he will carve 2.50 mt high sculpture in this championship.
"The theme of the sculpture is Masterpiece of the Italian art all the times," Patnaik said, adding that this championship will be at Kolomenskoe Museum Reserve in Moscow.
Pattnaik owns a medal in public prize last year.
Pattnaik is the first Indian sand artist to achieve International awards including World championship at Berlin in 2008.
He had been doing sand sculptures for the last 22 years and also runs a sand art school at Puri beach in Orissa.
