Eventually, the comfort food for most Indian non-vegetarians is biryani. There’s nothing like good ol’ spicy one, served with a little gravy and raita on the side.

Meghana Foods, one of the newer entrants in the city’s biryani business, has already quickly moved to being one of the favourite spots for biryani in the city.

The biryani served here is similar to the Hyderabadi style, though it has been improvised for a more urban palate. Their chicken and mutton variations are extremely likable. They also have a boneless chicken version, which is one of their fastest moving items on their menu. Another popular improvisation that they have is the Chicken Lollypop Biryani, a yummy option! For the vegetarians, they have egg and vegetable options too.

They have some good starters, which include all time favourites like Chicken 65, Chicken Lollypop, Chicken Kebab and Mutton Pepper Fry. Chicken Maharaja, one of their signature dishes, is a starter that’s worth ordering if you like spicy food.

However, if you’re not the biryani and rice sort, fret not for they have phulkas and rotis as well. Some of the popular curries include Chicken Boneless Gravy, Spicy Andhra Fish Gravy and Tomato Egg Gravy. They also have the mandatory Chinese items like fried rice on the menu.

Meghana Foods is located on Residency Road (next to The Gateway Hotel), in Koramangala (opposite Hotel Empire) and in Jayanagar 4th Block (on 33rd Cross). A meal for two people would cost well under Rs500.
