The Election Commission (EC) issued a notice to Parliamentary Secretary Om Prakash Hudla for violating the model code of conduct.

EC found kettles with Hudla's name and picture at numerous tea stalls. They also found razors and scissors with his name embossed on them at barber shops in Mahua of Dausa district.

Hudla, a Parliamentary Secretary in Vasundhara Raje's government, is an MLA from Mahua. The matter was brought to notice of EC by local Congressmen who sought the commission's intervention. Taking cognizance of the matter, EC has sought a reply from Hudla.

Swinging into action, the EC has also ordered that the kettles and shaving equipment be seized from the shops. Police have initiated the process for the same.

Speaking to DNA, Hudla claimed ignorance. "I have no idea who has distributed these items with my name and picture. I was in Delhi when the incident took place. I had distributed similar items around a year and a half ago. I am yet to receive the notice and will definitely answer EC." Hudla is known for adopting innovative measures to establish a connect with people.
