A two-year-old baby girl, who was allegedly kidnapped by two women from Sola Bridge on Sunday noon, was rescued by the police on Monday morning in Bopal.

The police have arrested the women duo in whose custody the baby was found and are trying to ascertain the motive of kidnapping.

The child was identified as Krishna Chauhan, daughter of one Manoharsinh Chauhan, a resident of Bhammaria slum near Sola Bridge. The arrested women were identified as Aji Bharwad and Dahi Bharwad, both residents of Bopal.

The women allegedly kidnapped Krishna while she was playing in front of a provision store near Sola Bridge where she had strayed away from her house. "We were busy with some work and Krishna was playing alone. But at around midday, we noticed that she was not in the house," Manoharsinh stated in his complaint, lodged at Sola Police Station.

While searching for Krishna, the anxious parents were told by Prakash Prajapati, the owner of the provision store that their daughter was taken away in an auto-rickshaw by two women in the attire of Bharwads.

"Prakash told us that he had seen Krishna play near his store and he had even offered her some peanuts. But after a while, the women came and drove away with her in an auto," Manoharshinh said.
