Senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party LK Advani on Saturday targeted United Progressive Alliance convenor Sonia Gandhi for not commenting on the issues of rising prices, corruption scandals and black money stashed abroad.
“On these issues, various Congress spokespersons and the PM have spoken, but why is the Congress president silent?” he said.
He said a key reason for the problems in the country was because Sonia Gandhi was the final authority and not the prime minister, as it should be in any democracy. “Our political system approximates the communists, where the party is more important than the government,” he said.
Advani was addressing a press conference in Mumbai on Saturday, a day after his Jan Chetna Yatra entered the city. Gis cavalcade then headed towards Gujarat.
