Veena Singh to lead rail-roko in Singrauli

Senior Congress leader Arjun Singh's daughter, Veena Singh will lead a "Rail Roko" agitation in Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh tomorrow.

Veena who came into focus when she contested the 2009 Lok Sabha elections from the Sidhi constituency told PTI on phone from Singrauli that the agitation is being launched as Singrauli suffered from a total lack of rail connectivity.
   
She said that within Madhya Pradesh, one could travel by train from Singrauli only upto Katni and the place was cut off from the rest of the State.
   
Veena said that similarly there was no way in which one could travel from Singrauli to Varanasi by train.   

Quality coal is produced in the mines in Singrauli district and those working in them face many problems due to poor rail connectivity.
   
She said that the problem has been pending for the last 20 years with the railway authorities who were not doing anything about it.
