BJP president Nitin Gadkari today ruled out any chance of an alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) or any other party in Uttar Pradesh for the assembly elections scheduled in the state next year.

Gadkari said the Ram temple should not be made a political or election issue as after the Allahabad high court's decision, the path to its construction has been cleared.

"There is no confusion with regard to any pre or post-poll alliance with either the BSP, Samajwadi Party or RLD. Though we are confident of managing a majority in the assembly on our own, we will prefer sitting in the opposition benches if we fail to do so," Gadkari, who was in Lucknow to take part in the party's national working committee meeting, told PTI.

"It has been proved repeatedly that these three parties are one and can come together any time," he said, adding that they can also support Congress.

Gadkari claimed that there are no chances of Congress winning next year's election as it is completely on the back foot following various scams and corruption charges and it may manage seats only in single digit.

He said BJP's state unit was working in a planned manner and the party had already started working on a vision document for Uttar Pradesh's development. There was a plan to "change the face and destiny of Uttar Pradesh by ushering in Ram Rajya" in case BJP comes to power, he said.

"If voted to power, the party will establish fast track courts to deal with crimes committed under BSP rule, end the anti-farmer land acquisitions and improve the law and order problems of the state," Gadkari said.

"We have to remind the people of the days of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government and also of the Rajnath Singh-led government in the state. We will highlight lack of development in Uttar Pradesh," Gadkari said.

"The people have started realising that the BJP is the only alternative to end the goonda and jungle raj of Samajwadi Party and the BSP," he claimed.

Uttar Pradesh had become a "synonym for bad governance, mismanagement, corruption, goondaraj, mafiaraj and casteism under Mayawati's rule and the party has resolved to fight all three political adversaries -- BSP, Samajwadi Party and Congress -- in the assembly elections," he said.

Gadkari also said that persons facing charges of murder, rape and other serious offences would not be given tickets for the election.
