ULFA recruting students to plant bombs

The Assam police today claimed that the banned ULFA was recruiting school and college students to carry out blasts in Guwahati in the run up to the Independence Day.

IGP (Law and Order) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta told reporters here that the police had received intelligence reports that the outfit was taking the help of students to plant bombs in vulnerable areas the city. We have stepped up security in vulnerable areas.

Meanwhile, a woman bomb expert of the ULFA's 709 battalion was arrested here yesterday for entering the city to plant bombs.
