More than a hundred leaders and activists of Congress in Tripura has joined Trinamool Congress alleging that Congress failed to play the role of effective opposition against the ruling CPI-M in the state.
   
Arunchandra Bhowmick, chairman of Trinamool Congress said, "180 activists and leaders including former South district president Debabrata Baidya, former president of state women's Congress, Sharmila Das and former youth Congress president Sukumar Das yesterday joined Trinamool Congress."

"More Congress activists including the former chief of employees wing of Congress, Shibendra Bhattacharya would join TC shortly," Bhowmick said.
