Train services back to normal on Mathura-Vrindavan line

Almost all trains going through Mathura including Andhra Pradesh Express, Karnataka Express and Sridham Express are running as per their schedule, railway sources said.

Train services were today restored on Mathura-Vrindavan line after they were disrupted following a collision between Delhi-bound Goa Sampark Kranti Express and Mewar Express killing 22 lives.

Almost all trains going through Mathura including Andhra Pradesh Express, Karnataka Express and Sridham Express are running as per their schedule, railway sources said.

Meanwhile, PK Bajpai, Commissioner, Railway Safety(North East Circle), arrived here for an inquiry into the mishap. Several trains were either cancelled or rescheduled including two Rajdhani Express trains after the accident.
   
The 4211/4212 Intercity Express between Agra and New Delhi was cancelled yesterday and as many as eight trains were rescheduled, according to a Northern Railway spokesperson. The rescheduled trains included the 2954 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Mumbai Central August Kranti Rajdhani Express and New Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani Express.

The accident took place yesterday morning when Delhi-bound Goa Sampark Kranti Express rammed into Mewar express, also bound for Delhi, near Mathura Railway station.
