Three persons were killed and 25 persons injured in an accident near Sirkazhi in Nagapattinam distict today.
The mishap occurred when a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus rammed into another TNSTC bus parked on the roadside around 3.45 am.
Police said the bus was parked after a tyre got punctured. The driver was engaged in changing the tyre and the conductor and around 40 passengers were sitting inside.
At this time, the other TNSTC bus bound to Mannargudi from Vellore rammed it. The Conductor was killed on the spot while the driver suffered a fracture in the leg. A 17-year old boy and an unidentified 45-year old man were found dead inside the
bus.
Over 25 passengers in both the buses were injured.
The driver of the other bus is absconding.
