With the JMM and AJSU today announcing support to a BJP-led government in Jharkhand for the remainder of the tenure of the state Assembly the JPCC accused the NDA of continuing an opportunistic alliance.

"This opportunistic alliance will benefit a handful of people, but the losers will be the people of the state," Jharkhand PCC general secretary-cum-spokesman Sailesh Sinha said.

He said the JMM leaders had disallowed chief minister Shibu Soren from expressing his views since the BJP decided to withdraw support to his government and then put it on hold.

RJD's state unit president Girinath Singh said the latest decision on Jharkhand was a 'formula of loot' and would soon meet the fate which the BJP had experienced in Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.

CPI(ML-Liberation's) MLA Vinod Singh claimed that there were serious differences among allies.

He demanded that the people should know about the formula for a new government in the state.

JMM MLA Simon Marandi, who has been opposing realignment with the BJP, said though he was bound by the party whip, he would keep his views before taking a final call on the change of leadership in Jharkhand.

"I have not gone to Delhi. I will speak to leaders who have gone to Delhi and get details," he said.

Asked whether he was softening his stand on the issue, Marandi shot back "You know the technicalities. I have to abide by the whip."

Stating that he would talk to party MLAs Teklal Mahto, Champai Soren and Lobin Hembrom on the issue, Marandi expressed displeasure over 'the way Hemant Soren was functioning without taking senior leaders into confidence'.

"I want to know how Hemant Soren intends to run the JMM."
