Tension prevailed in the Bhilwara district for the second day today following a bandh called by the lawyers agitating over the death of their colleague after police harassment.
Lawyers and family members of Amit Yadav, who allegedly committed suicide on Thursday, gathered outside his home and demanded arrest of the five policemen accused of harassing Yadav. They also demanded transfer of the District Superintendent of Police P Ramjee.
The five policemen-- Circle Inspector Om Prakash Verma, ASI Kishan Singh, and constables Rajesh Choudhary, Moti Lal and Bhupendra Singh -- all posted in Subhash Nagar police station -- are at large.
The postmortem of Yadav's body has not be conducted as yet, police said.
The state government has sent Additional DG (Crime) KL Bairwa from Jaipur to investigate the matter.
Markets in Bhilwara were closed and no untoward incident has been reported so far.
