Even as the special investigation team of the CBI tries to gather evidence and corner the arrested accused in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter and Kausarbi murder case, the agency has also intensified its search for absconders Ajay Patel and Yashpal Chudasama.

Patel and Chudasama are the only two accused named in the chargesheet filed by the CBI who are yet to be arrested.

The CBI sleuths has formed five different teams to nab the two absconders who are believed to be close aides of former home minister Amit Shah and suspended IPS officer Abhay Chudasama.

The teams had kept a close watch on all the possible places that the two could go.

A source close to the development said that five different teams have been sent to different locations to look for the two.

However, sources said there is a possibility that the two could be in a safe location outside the state.

"The CBI had already kept a watch on their friends and relatives. But when they became untraceable the agency formed special teams to look for them," a source said. Patel and Chudasama both are suspected to have threatened and influenced the petitioner in the case and brother of Sohrabuddin, Rubabuddin Sheikh.

Yashpal Chudasama is the brother of suspended IPS officer Abhay Chudasama.
