The service revolver of a sub inspector of Delhi Police was stolen from Ferozeshah Kotla stadium during IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils, police sources said today.
The incident took place on late Wednesday night when sub inspector Babulal Meena, who is on probation, was coming out of the stadium after the match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils was over, they said.
As soon as Meena discovered that the revolver was missing, he informed his superiors about it. A case was registered against unknown persons in this regard.
Meena, who is posted at Mehrauli, came to the stadium on security duty on Wednesday night.
On October 31 last year, seven live cartridges were found from the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium here, barely two hours ahead of the commencement of the one-day cricket match between India and Australia.
The cartridges were retrieved from the rest room of the stadium.
