Respite from rains sees Puducherry limping back to normalcy

Puducherry recorded nearly 80 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours ending 8.30 am today, bringing the total since October 31 to more than 530 mm.

Puducherry and its suburbs are limping back to normalcy with a respite in the rains that lashed the Union Territory for nearly 10 days under the impact of North East monsoon.
   
Official source said Puducherry recorded nearly 80 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours ending 8.30 am today, bringing the total since October 31 to more than 530 mm.
   
The rains have also resulted in a substantial increase in water levels in all privately owned wells.
