Rehabilitation of boatmen families living around Dal Lake

The government had procured 125 acres of land for the development of a colony at Rakh-i-Arth for rehabilitation of those living around Dal Lake, the deputy chief minister said.

The Jammu and Kashmir government today said 700 plots are ready for allotment to families of boatmen living in-and-around the world famous Dal Lake.

Deputy chief minister Tara Chand told the Legislative Assembly that 700 plots at Rakh-i-Arth belt in Jammu are ready for allotment to boatmen families for shifting them from the Dal Lake.

Carving out of 1300 more plots is also under progress, he said in reply to a written question.

The government had procured 125 acres of land for the development of a colony at Rakh-i-Arth for rehabilitation of those living around Dal Lake, the deputy chief minister said.

Requisition of 100 more acres of land is in progress, he said.
