Police deployed in Jaipur as tension follows road rage incident

Tension gripped Hasanpura locality in Jaipur following an incident of road rage in which six persons were injured, one of them critically, police said today.

Additional forces were deployed in the area to keep the situation under control following the tension which erupted after the incident that occurred yesterday at Hasanpura road, they said.

According to police, one Gajendra Singh Chauhan was on his way to meet his friend when three youths hit his motorcycle with their bike. Chauhan entered into an argument with them following which they thrashed him.

Chauhan, a native of the same locality, called his relatives for help but they were also beaten up by people from the boys' community.

Six persons, including Jitendra's mother Sarla, were injured in the attack and were rushed to hospital where Jitendra's condition was stated to be critical, the police said.

"Today, tension erupted in the area but we soon deployed additional forces to keep the situation under control. Seven persons have been arrested in for attacking the people," deputy commissioner of police Jaipur (south) Jose Mohan said.

He said that the situation was under control but tensed.
