Party's image affected due to Vasundhara issue: Sumitra

Senior BJP leader Sumitra Mahajan today expressed concern over the image of the party getting affected with the Vasundhara Raje issue, and said that in democracy, decisions should not be forced upon an elected leader.

"In democracy it is absolutely wrong to thrust upon a decision on an elected leader. She is the same Vasundhara (former chief minister of Rajasthan) who had once ensured party's spectacular victory in Rajasthan," she said.

Mahajan, who was also a former Union minister stressed that before ordering her to quit from the post of Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, the party should have taken into confidence the state (Rajasthan) BJP MLAs.

Citing media reports, she said that the issue is affecting the party's image among the people and it is a matter of concern.
