Noted Hindi scholar Kunwar Pal Singh dies

Singh who had written about half a dozen books on Hindi literature, was the founder member, national vice-president and treasurer of the Janwadi Lekhak Sangh.

Noted Hindi scholar and former Dean Faculty of Arts at Aligarh Muslim University, Kunwar Pal Singh has passed away after prolonged illness. He was 72
    
Singh who had written about half a dozen books on Hindi literature, was the founder member, national vice-president and treasurer of the Janwadi Lekhak Sangh.
    
About a fortnight ago Singh had announced his decision to donate his body to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College for scientific research, during a felicitation ceremony organized here in his honour.
    
As per his will, Singh's body was handed over to the AMU authorities last night by his family members.
    
He is survived by wife, son and a daughter.
