North eastern horticulture improvement generated employment : Sharad Pawar

The Union agriculture minister said that there has been 70% growth in horticultural sector in the region which triggered economic growth among the people.

Union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar today said that the immense improvement in horticulture in north eastern states has highly contributed to generation of gainful and permanent employment for the people of the region.
          
There has been 70% growth in horticultural sector in the region which triggered economic growth among the people, Pawar said after inaugurating the auditorium of the College of Veterinary Sciences, Pawar said .
          
He emphasised the need for man power training in the sector and informed another Central Agriculture University would be set up in the north east.
          
Pawar also underscored the need for speedy dissemination of information for the farmers and market linkages for agriculture and allied sectors.
          
The minister, after spending a night in Aizawl left for Delhi today.
