Naveen Patnaik to attend ministry of home affairs meet on NCTC

In a u-turn to its earlier opposition to Centre's move to discuss NCTC issue at the level of Director General of Police and Chief Secretary, the Odisha government on Saturday said its representatives would attend the meeting scheduled at March 12.

"Our Chief Secretary and Director General of Police will be attending the meeting convened by the ministry of home affairs on the NCTC issue," Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik told reporters in Bhubaneshwar.

Earlier, Patnaik in a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had opposed the Union government's initiative to meet the states' top police and civil officials on the issue.
