Massive police deployment in Cuttack

A team of Quick Response Team equipped with night vision devices and AK series rifles besides the Greyhounds have been deployed, as also 150 sections of armed police till Vijay Dasami on Sunday, police sources said.

With the festive mood gripping this millennium city, the police are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a peaceful Durga puja.

Traffic arrangements have been upgraded with one-way movement in major roads. Three mobile traffic aid posts will be on duty along the nine km Ring Road, while 13 PCR vans and three night patrolling teams would be assisting till the immersions, which were likely on Tuesday, the sources said.

Three additional DCPs, three deputy commandants, 39 DSPs and 55 inspectors would be on duty during the pujas.
