Man kills six members of his family in Tamil Nadu

The police said that Sivaguru murdered his father, a retired police inspector, mother, brother, sister in-law, nephew and niece and surrendered at a police station in Chennai today.

A 53-year-old man allegedly murdered six members of his family, including his parents, at Thaasanayakkanpatti in Salem in a suspected fall-out of property dispute, the police said today.

The police said Sivaguru murdered his father, a retired police inspector, mother, brother, sister in-law, nephew and niece and surrendered at a police station in Chennai today.

They said that Sivaguru had told them that the murder took place two days back. Since their house was in an isolated area and neighbours were far away, nobody came to know about the murder, the police said.

Disputes in the family over some property was suspected to be the reason for the murders, the police said.
