ShareRaipur: A tribesman comitted suicide by hanging himself after allegedly axing his wife and two children to death in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.
The incident took place last night in Samarsindha village when Vishwanth killed his wife Umabai (28) and two sons, Devnath (8) and Jaynath (5), with an axe.
He later hanged himself and died, police said.
Vishwanath was allegedly suffering from some mental illness. His wife had wanted their children to shift to another place for schooling, police said.
The illness was a constant cause of tension between husband and wife, they said.
Autopsies were conducted on all the corpses before they were handed over to relatives.
