A retired officer of the state government has accused his brother, who works for the AMC, of selling off the former's land worth Rs30 crore by forging documents.

The retired officer has also accused a deputy mamlatdar of helping his brother in disposing of the land.

According to the FIR lodged with the Naroda police, Pravin Joshi, a retired government employee who used to work at the secretariat, has accused his brother, Shailesh, of forging documents to grab the former's land. Shailesh was helped in this by a well-known builder, Babu Kathiria, and his whole family, including his wife and two sons, the FIR alleges.

"The accused [Shailesh] forged the document of my land which is located
near Navyug School in Naroda," Pravin Joshi has stated in the FIR.

"He then sold it to the builder Kathiria. As per market rates, the land's actual price is Rs30 crore but it was sold for just Rs3 crore. A deputy mamlatdar of Naroda also helped him in this by forging the power of attorney document," the official has stated in his FIR.

He has further stated that, even in 2006, his brother, Shailesh had sold the land to the land mafia. But because of intervention by the court, the matter was sorted out and Praveen had got back his land. Sources, said that the accused, Shailesh, told the police that he was forced to strike a deal at gunpoint.
