Lok Sabha adjourned on price rise issue

Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Wednesday after the Opposition stalled proceedings to protest price rise. However, the Rajya Sabha functioned normally after brief disruptions in the morning.

Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar tried to conduct business for a while, but gave up at 12.20pm and adjourned the House for the day.

Earlier, SP leaders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh, Left Front leaders Brinda Karat and Gurudas Dasgupta held a demonstration in the premises of parliament. “We will compel the government to change its policy, otherwise we will change the anti-people government,” Mulayam said.
