LeT commander surrenders before security forces in Reasi

A militant of the Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit has surrendered before security forces in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, a police spokesman said here today.

Identified as Mohammad Ashraf code Abu Ibrar, a self-styled platoon commander of the LeT outfit, yesterday surrendered along with one AK-47 with two magazines, six AK cartridges among other things before a joint column of police, army and CRPF at Reasi, about 80 km from here, he said.

Ashraf had initially joined Hizbul Mujahideen outfit in 2006 but subsequently left the group and joined LeT, the spokesman said, adding that he was operating in Sildhar, Lancha, Hariwala and Gulabgarh area of the district.
