Left parties will present "evidence" of Maoist and Trinamool Congress "nexus" when they meet prime minister Manmohan Singh here soon, a CPI(M) leader has said.

"We have requested for time (to meet Singh). We will be submitting evidence, including CDs of meetings held jointly by Maoists and Trinamool Congress (TC), when we meet the prime minister," CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury told reporters here.

While the prime minister has described Maoists as the gravest threat to internal security, "some members of his Cabinet are openly patronising and protecting the Maoists", he said, adding that there were records of even public meetings addressed jointly by Maoist leaders and those of the Trinamool.

Yechury said there were also public statements by prominent Maoist leaders about "the help and support they recieved from the TC" and added that they would request the prime minister to restrain his ministers in this regard.

Asked what he meant by "restraining" them, he said, "We will leave that to his conscience as to how he deals with this contradiction in his Cabinet."

Yechury's statement came on a day when TC members created ruckus in the Lok Sabha to protest the CPI(M)'s "dictatorship" in West Bengal and "continued attacks" on its workers. TC chief and railway minister Mamata Banerjee described the attacks as "genocide", and claimed that 500 members of her party had been killed in three months.

On the disruption in Parliament by Trinamool, the Marxist leader said issues connected with the State list, like law and order, should not be brought to Parliament.
