The father of beleaguered former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda today sought intervention of finance minister Pranab Mukherjee, in a letter in a local daily, alleging that the IT officials were not allowing him to meet his son.

In his letter, published in a prominent Hindi daily today, Rashika Koda claimed that the IT officials were not allowing him to meet his son, who was being linked with some businessmen by his (Madhu Koda's) enemies, who were out "to spoil his image".

Requesting Mukherjee's intervention through the letter, the elder Koda said he was contemplating a PIL in this regard and alleged that "cooked up" stories against his son were being published in the media.

Till Tuesday scores of people, apparently supporters from his Singhbhum constituency, had entered Koda's house even as the IT shut out the media here.

Even the former chief minister's wife, Gita, was seen discussing with around 12 persons on November 8.

Koda, who along with his associates have been facing charges of money laundering, is being grilled by the IT sleuths.

The IT had already issued arrest warrants against two of his aides Sanjay Choudhary and Binod Kumar Sinha.
