Karunanidhi announces constituting welfare board for Tamil film world

Chief minister M Karunanidhi today announced plans to constitute a Welfare Board for the Tamil film industry.

The board would be headed by information minister, Parithi Ilamvazhuthi and represented by popular actors Sivakumar and Khushboo among others, an official release said here.

Karunanidhi announced constituting the welfare board, following a promise he had made to the film fraternity during a
recent meeting.

The two actors, besides leading producer AVM Saravanan and director SP Muthuraman, would be ex-officio members, the release said.
