JKDYF stages protest demanding unemployment allowance

Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Youth Federation, youth wing of state unit of CPI(M) today staged a protest demanding unemployment allowance from the government.

    
Carrying banners and placards and shouting slogans in support of their demands, around 300 youths from different parts of the valley, marched from Pratap Park to Lal Chowk in the city.

    
"It is necessary to provide means and environments to youth in which they can attain optimal growth potential, equipped with the requisite character strength and motivation to participate in the mainstream of the practical life,"

Mohammad Iqbal Wani JKDYF president said while addressing the gathering.

    
Wani asked the youth to unitedly fight against the socio-economic policies, pursued by the government which had brought the youth to a position where their contribution towards advancement of the society was being denied.
