Government officials and employees in Jharkhand will have to declare their moveable and immovable assets every three years up to their retirement, official sources said here today.

As per an order by governor MOH Farooq yesterday, fresh recruits should also declare their assets within three months of their appointment as well.

Employees in the Class IV category have been exempted from this exercise.

The decision is apparently taken to curb alleged corruption in government departments.

Several scams hit Jharkhand since its creation in 2000 with several officials, including a couple of IAS officers, and employees being booked under corruption charges.
