The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), unveils a rather fascinating book in its golden jubilee year which will take its alumni, current students and faculty down memory lane.

The coffee table book, named IIMA: India's Management Athenaeum, will be launched on Friday at 6pm by Dr Vijaypat Singhania, chairperson, IIMA's board of governors, at the Ravi Matthai auditorium. The book  covers this prestigious institute's green campus,  imposing architecture,  vibrant culture, world-class faculty, brilliant  student body and enviable achievements.

It will help all its students, training programme participants, teachers, staff members and visitors carry fond memories. The book carries pictures and light-hearted descriptions that portray the spirit of IIMA.

"This book is not a history of the institute; rather it gives its readers a peep into the heart and soul of this great institution.

We have tried and put together photographs from different stages of IIMA's development and many light-hearted descriptions and narrations, which together give the readers a flavour of IIMA with all its diversity," said one of the editors, Prof Mathukutty Monippally.

The book is targeted at two sets of readers. First are those who have been part of the IIMA community down the decades. Second are those people who have heard about IIMA and intend to know more, especially what makes IIMA special, he added.
