IIMA issues admission offer letters for new PGP batch

Of the total candidates issued admission offer letters, 16% are girls and 96% are from engineering background.

The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), has issued admission offer letters to selected candidates on Monday.
According to the in-charge faculty for the admission at the IIMA, they have issued more than 800 admission offer letters for 385 seats in the Post-Graduate Program in Management (PGP) batch 2012-14. 

Prof Arnab K Laha, in-charge faculty for the admission, said that the experience of interviewing students was significant and he expected talented students in the batch. Of the total candidates issued admission offer letters, 16% are girls and 96% are from engineering background, he said.

"Of the total, about 72% of students have work experience. 25% of them have work experience of more than two years. Average work experience comes to around 22.5 months," he said. He added that the institute has 10% in waiting list in all five category seats-general, SC, ST, OBC and physically challenged.

He said that offer decline rate at IIMA is 8%. "We interviewed more students than the previous year. Students are from diverse sections and we expect good number of talented people in class this year. We hope they will make good managers," he said.
