Grenade recovered in Assam

A grenade was recovered today from a house at Bhimajuli in Assam's Sonitpur district where NDFB militants killed 15 people on October four last wek, police said.

The grenade was found in the backyard of one Lok Bahadur Chetri's house and was suspected to have been lobbed by the militants when they attacked the villagers comprising a mixed community of Assamese, Nepali and Adivasi on Sunday.

The police rushed to the spot after being informed by the family members about the grenade and cordoned off the area. The grenade was later defused.
