Girls complain about obscene behaviour by village boys in Haryana buses

Over a dozen girl students of a school in the district have complained to authorities, alleging that boys of a village made obscene gestures and passed lewd remarks against them every day while they travelled to their institute by bus.

In a written complaint to deputy commissioner TL Satyaprakash here, the students, their guardians and village elders, all residents of Khandora village, 15 km from here, alleged the obscene behaviour in a State-run bus almost daily by certain boy students of Sulkha village had crossed the limits, official sources said.

They alleged that the boys, one of whom even possessed a country-made pistol, threatened them with dire consequences if they dared spoke out against them.

The girls and boys travel daily to Rewari and back to their villages by the same roadways bus, sources said.

On a directive of the deputy commissioner, concerned police officials have asked the village elders as well as guardians along with their wards to be present at the police post at Bharawas village tomorrow for redressal of their problem.
