Three persons were today questioned in connection with the abduction and rape of a 30-year-old call-centre employee from Mizoaram in south Delhi five days ago but the police are yet to crack the case.

No arrest has been made in the incident even as investigators released sketches of two of the five suspects while a third was being prepared, a senior police officer said.

Three persons who have criminal records were questioned during the day but it came to light that they were not involved in the crime, the officer said.

The victim was walking towards her home in Moti Village near Dhaula in south Delhi early Wednesday morning along with her one of her colleagues when the men in a vehicle abducted her and took turns to rape her. She was later dumped in Mongolpuri after which she approached police.

The police are groping in the dark though 15 special teams were formed to find a clue about the culprits and two sketches released besides the questioning of several suspects and surfing of CCTV footage. Statements of three witnesses have also been recorded.

Investigators have also been going through mobile phone records of a number of "possible" suspects residing in Mongolpuri area as they believe that the culprits were "very familiar" with the locality and they could be staying there.

Meanwhile, Northeast Support Centre and Helpline alleged that police failed to raise an alarm in and around Ring Road and Dhaula Kuan soon after the Police Control Room was informed about the incident.

"The night patrolling team reached the spot within ten minutes. The Control Room could have alerted police personnel in and around Ring Road, Dhaula Kuan and Moti Bagh. If that was done, we believe culprits could have been arrested," said Madhu Chandra, spokesperson of the Helpline.

He also alleged that the BPO company had failed to follow the guidelines.
