The maximum in Ludhiana stood at 34.2 deg C and that in Amritsar, which recorded 9 mm of rains, settled at 34.1 deg C. While Ambala in Haryana recorded a maximum temperature of 33.9 deg C, that in Chandigarh, which was lashed by 28.4 mm rainfall, stood at 32.6 deg C.
The southwest monsoon was active in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala while it was subdued over Gangetic West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir.
