Delhi car blast: NIA team inspects site

A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday inspected the blast site and the Israeli embassy vehicle that was charred after a motorcyclist attached an explosive device to it.

NIA director SC Sinha visited the site at the Aurangzeb Road crossing where the blast took place on Monday afternoon, injuring  four people, including an Israeli woman.

Declining to divulge any details, Sinha said: "Delhi Police are investigating the case and we will assist them if we are asked for assistance."

An Innova car from the Israeli embassy burst into flames after a biker planted an explosive on its rear and sped off around 3.15 p.m. Monday. Two passengers from a nearby red Indica were also affected by the blast.

Delhi Police's Special Cell is investigating the case.

"We are searching for the biker and are going through the CCTV footage to get more clues," said Dharmendra Kumar, special commissioner (Law and Order), Delhi Police.
