'Dabangg': Salman Khan rules final nominations

Khan’s Dabangg seems to be a clear winner, as far as the nominations for the Bhaskar Bollywood Awards are concerned. The blockbuster has managed to get nominated in eight of the ten categories.

Salman Khan’s Dabangg seems to be a clear winner, as far as the nominations for the Bhaskar Bollywood Awards are concerned. The blockbuster has managed to get nominated in eight of the ten categories.

Interestingly, the magic of superstar Shahrukh Khan appears to remain intact. A large number of fans requested that he be nominated for the Abhineta No. 1 award, despite the actor not having a single release in the past one year.

Besides Salman Khan for Dabangg, the audience has also nominated Aamir Khan (Dhobi Ghat), Ajay Devgn (Once Upon A Time In Mumbai), Hrithik Roshan (Guzaarish) and Sunny Deol

(Yamla Pagla Deewana) in the Abhineta No 1 category.
In the Abhinetri No. 1 category, they have nominated Aishwarya Rai (Guzaarish), Anushka Sharma (Band Baaja Baaraat), Katrina Kaif (Rajneeti), Priyanka Chopra (Saat Khoon Maaf) and debutant Sonakshi Sinha (Dabangg).

At the end of the first phase of the voting for the awards, the people nominated Dabangg, Band Baaja Baaraat, Ready, Golmaal 3 and Yamla Pagla Deewana in the Sabse Badaa Entertainer category.

The new faces that would compete for the Estilo Fresh Talent of the Year award are- Sonakshi Sinha (Dabangg), Ranveer Singh (Band Baaja Baaraat), Ali Zafar (Tere Bin Laden), Aditya Roy Kapoor (Guzaarish) and Rajat Barmecha (Udaan).

In the Jodi Number 1 category, the people opted to vote for the best on-screen pairs.

The final nominations are - Ranveer Singh-Anushka Sharma (Band Baaja Baaraat), Salman Khan-Sonakshi Sinha (Dabangg), Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif (Tees Maar Khan), Ajay Devgn-Kangana Ranaut (Once Upon A Time In Mumbai) and Sunny Deol-Bobby Deol-Dharmendra (Yamla Pagla Deewana).
Voting for the songs in Gana Number 1 category, the audience nominated- Tere Mast Mast Do Nain (Dabangg), Dhinka Chika (Ready), Aas Paas Khuda (Anjana Anjani), Pee Loon (Once Upon A Time In Mumbai) and Aiwain Aiwain (Band Baaja Baaraat).

The item numbers that succeeded in making it to the Dhamak-e-dar Item category, are Munni, Jalebi Bai, Tinku Jiya, Character Dheela.

Two dialogues from Dabangg — Hum Tum Mein Itne Chhed Karenge… and Thappad Se Darr Nahi… made it to the nominations for the best dialogues of the year in the Bole Toh Jhakaas category. Another dialogue, delivered by the style icon, in his flick Ready — Teen Cheezon Ko Kabhi underestimate… also features in the category.

Apart from these, the other two dialogues that have made it to the category are — Bas Duaaon Mein Yaad Rakhna… (Once Upon A Time In Mumbai) and Awaaz…Neeche… (Action Replayy).
Those unforgettable characters that were able to make it to the Top Ka Character category include- Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan-Dabangg),
Sultan Mirza (Ajay Devgn-Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai), Chitti Babu (Rajinikanth-Robot), Tanuja Trivedi (Kangana Ranaut-Tanu Weds Manu) and Ethan Mascarenhas (Hrithik Roshan-Guzaarish).

In an interesting development, two films of ‘Mr Perfectionist’ Aamir Khan - Peepli Live and Dhobi Ghat - will contest against each other in the Zaraa Hat Ke category. The flicks will also compete with Udaan, Do Dooni Chaar and Haunted 3D.

These are the final nominations for the first public choice awards of the country. The voting for the winners begins today.
