The BJP today accused the PMO of trying to cover-up and shield the guilty in the Commonwealth Games anomalies by dilly-dallying action against those named guilty by the Shunglu panel and demanded that the report be handed over to the CBI.

"The BJP disapproves of the dilly-dallying by the Prime Minister's Office regarding action on the six reports submitted by the V K Shunglu Committee on the corruption and irregularities in the organisation of CWG 2010," party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told reporters here.

The Shunglu committee has reportedly indicted Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit and former CWG organising committee head Suresh Kalmadi for the irregularities.

"It was promised that all the reports of this high-level committee will be sent to the CBI for further investigation and action. The government put forward this argument as a defence for not having a JPC on the issue," Javadekar said.

He alleged that the government was not taking appropriate action on the issue as some senior Congress leaders have been named in the report.

"The government seems to be dithering on the delivery of the promise, as the reports directly held Dikshit, some UPA ministers and Kalmadi as responsible for the mess and the loot. This is nothing but yet another cover-up operation of the worst scam India has ever witnessed," the BJP leader said.

He alleged that the PMO was also trying to cover-up other scams like 2G spectrum and Adarsh housing.
