In a loss of face for the Jammu and Kashmir government, it has been found that four policemen and a territorial army jawan actively participated in stone-pelting during the recent unrest in the Valley.  Three cops have been already arrested and a case has been registered against the jawan.

On September 29, special police official Naseer Ahmad Sheikh and two aides were arrested under Public Safety Act (PSA) as they tried to block a road at Chadoora in the central Kashmir district of Budgam.

More worrying is the fact that a good number of government employees were also found involved in stone-pelting.
On November 11, police arrested 60 government servants for stone-throwing and instigating violence.

“Some 135 government employees are under the scanner for fomenting trouble during the five months of unrest. Sixty of them were arrested and seven booked under PSA,” Shiv Murari Sahai, inspector general of police (Kashmir range), had told reporters then.

Earlier, on August 29, five persons, including three government employees, were arrested for instigating people and forcing a separatist-sponsored shutdown at Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
