Congress confident of alliance with DMK

CBI may be tightening the noose around M Karunanidhi’s family, but Congress remains confident that its alliance with DMK in Tamil Nadu will not be affected by these developments.

“There is no co-relation between the two. CBI is an independent body and the government has no control over it. The investigation is being monitored by SC,” spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed said. He was commenting on reports that CBI was likely to quiz the DMK chief’s daughter Kanimozhi.
