After almost more than one and half years have elapsed, CID crime has finally registered case against seven people from the Asaram Ashram in connection with mysterious deaths of two Ashram boys - Dipesh and Abhishek Vaghela.

The registering of the case against the seven people assumes importance in face of the fact that even after nearly two years has gone by since the incident took place; police are still clueless whether to register Dipesh and Abhishek's deaths as murder or accidental death!

The case was registered by CID Crime PI, HB Rajput while CID Crime PI, PM Parmar, would conduct the investigation.   The seven accused include Pankaj Saxsena, Uday Sanghani, Uogesh Bhatti, Vikas Khemka, Meenketan Katra, Kaushik Vanik, and Ajay Shah who were booked under section 304(A), 34, 114 of Indian Penal Code and section 23 of Juvenile Protection Act, after the CID Crime, which is conducting the investigation, found negligence on their part.

Earlier, the Gujarat high court, in response to a writ petition filed by Shantilal Vaghela and Praful Vaghela, the fathers of Dipesh and Abhishek had served showcause notice to the state government, asking why the probe in to the deaths should not be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Dipesh and Abhishek - two boys residing at a boarding school run by spiritual leader Asaram Bapu - were found dead on July 5, 2008 in mysterious circumstances.

Talking to DNA, Praful Vaghela, father of Abhishek, said, "We do not trust the investigations as the state police are acting under political pressure and influence and demand a CBI probe in the case."

Vaghela further said that though police have registered cases against these people, they have missed out on Narayan Sai, son of Asaram, who was not only present at the time of the boys disappearing, but also when their bodies were found from the river Sabarmati's banks.

He also alleged that this is also despite the producing of papers containing black magic shlokas by Mahendra Chawla, former PA of Narayan Sai before the inquiry panel as well as his deposing before justice DK Trivedi Commission that these papers were allegedly given to him by Sai, sending shock waves across the country through his revelations. Vaghela also demanded a Narco test to be done on Narayan Sai.

Vaghela also stated that a day after Chawla had deposed, Bhanabhai an ex-sadhak of the Ashram too deposed before the commission that on the midnight of Kala Chaudas (a day before Diwali) in 2006, he and Narayan Sai had gone to a crematorium on the ashram premises. When they reached the crematorium, a tantrik was already present there. The tantrik and Narayan Sai performed some black magic, prasad of which was offered to Bhanabhai.

Though Bhanabhai had reservation in accepting the prasad, however, on the insistence of
Narayan Sai, he accepted the 'pedda' prasad.
