"FIRs in Arya and Singh murder cases were registered by the CBI yesterday", a senior official told PTI today.

He said the FIRs registered by family members of Arya in October last year in Vikas Nagar Police Station and the FIR at Gomti Nagar in Singh murder case on April 2 this year have been re-registered by the CBI, which has also started its probe.

The Lucknow bench of Allahabad high court had on July 27 directed the CBI to probe the murders of the two CMOs and also irregularities in implementation of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) within three months.

The order was passed by Justice Pradeep Kant and Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi after the Mayawati government had recommended a CBI probe into the deaths of the CMOs.

The CBI has not registered FIR in NRHM scams, the officer said.
