C'Wealth Games scam: CBI registers fresh case against six OC members

The case was registered against 6 organising committee officials and 2 firms for alleged irregularities in sportswear retailing and merchandising during the sports event.

The CBI today registered a fresh case against six Commonwealth Games Organising Committee officials and two firms for alleged irregularities in sportswear retailing and merchandising during the sports event and carried out countrywide searches at 10 places.

The agency after registering case against Organising Committee members VK Verma, M Jaychandran, Surjit Lal, Ram Mohan, Gp Capt KUK Reddy and Sangita Welingkar carried out searches at 10 places in Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh and Panchkula, official sources said.

The CBI has also registered cases against two firms -PBPL and CDIL - associated with sportswear merchandising and retailing during the Commonwealth Games 2010 for alleged irregularities.

With the registration of case, the CBI is now investigating 10 cases in connection with alleged irregularities in the conduct of the Games.
