BSF asks BDR to dismantle NE insurgent outfits camps

The Border Security Force (BSF) has asked Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) to dismantle 90 hideouts of northeast insurgents on its soil and hand over the ultras to the Indian authorities.
    
The demand was made by BSF during a four-day meeting of the border guards held in Bangladesh's Sylhet district which concluded on Saturday, a BSF spokesman said here today.
    
BSF DIG AK Singh, who attended the meeting, said issues like trans-border crime, illegal migration, smuggling of cattle, drugs and narcotics, poaching of Indian wildlife, repatriation of convicted nationals and fake Indian currency racket figured in the discussion.
    
Singh said both the sides agreed that soil of the respective countries would not be allowed to be used by terrorists, insurgents and criminals.
    
The BSF delegation, led by IG (Tripura Sector) SK Mishra, also met BDR director general Moinul Islam.
    
India shares a 4,095 km border with Bangladesh. Tripura shares a 856 km border with Bangladesh, Meghalaya 443 km, Mizoram 318 km and Assam 263 km.
