The Jammu and Kashmir BJP today demanded the setting of a commission, headed by a Supreme Court judge, to find out reasons that led to the recent turmoil in the Valley.

The commission should also identify those who had failed to perform their legal and constitutional duties in the state, BJP leader and former Union minister Chaman Lal Gupta said.

In a statement in Jammu, he alleged the NC-Congress government in the state had failed to tackle the situation.

"Anti-national elements are dictating terms challenging the very unity and integrity of the country," Gupta said.
